Are we facing another ecomonic tailspin?

As the value of real estate continues to decline due to the glut of residential foreclosed properties and the number of commercial property bankruptcies increases, bringing a flood of distressed assets to the market, the private capital and investment community, along with its regulators, must work together to navigate the new market terrain. And as legislation and regulation in Washington continue to shape the investment landscape, it only makes sense that the 2010 Distressed Asset Roundtable & Exchange (DARE) be held in our nation’s capital.

A purpose-driven conference, DARE 2010 is calling upon the investment community, as well as government officials, members of Congress, and regulators, to take part in this recovery-focused conversation. This collaborative environment will give investors, service providers, hedge funds, servicers, and attorneys an inside-the-Beltway view of the role the Obama administration, Congress, and government agencies like the Treasury Department, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and others play in addressing the uptick in both residential and commercial foreclosed properties.

To keep up with the lion’s share of residential re-defaults coming out of HAMP and multifamily and condominium foreclosure actions, it behooves the government to engage in a more focused dialogue with those directly affected by policy and legislative changes, as well as listen to the industry’s challenges and hear from those working in the private equity trenches. DS News invites you to take part in this residential and commercial real estate conversation and to equip yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to stay at the forefront during these ever-changing times.
